The Manatee County Meals on Wheels Plus is seeking a Chief Financial Officer. The
CFO responsibilities will include oversight of Meals on Wheels Plus’s financial and
accounting practices, including financial reporting, risk management, cash
management, budget preparation, grant reporting, and audit functions, as well as
oversight of Human Resources, Technology, and Facilities Operations. The position is
a hands-on position reporting directly to the President & CEO. The qualifications for the
position include 10 years of financial/accounting experience preferably with at least 5
years in the non-profit sector, with experience in risk management and insurance.
A CPA and/or MBA are highly desirable. The salary range is from $100K to $120K,
depending upon qualifications.

Job Summary:

To oversee Meals on Wheels Plus’s financial and accounting practices, including financial reporting, risk management, cash management, budget preparation, grant reporting and audit functions, as well as oversee Human Resources, Technology and Facilities Operations. The position is a hands-on position reporting directly to the President & CEO.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Provides strategic oversight for operations and capital projects; directs and coordinates company’s financial affairs according to established financial principles and practices and government regulations. Establishes financial operational procedures to obtain optimum efficiency, quality control and identifies areas for cost reduction.

2. Directs receipt, disbursement, and expenditures of money or capital assets. Approves and signs documents effecting monetary transactions.

3. Prepares for approval and allocates operating budgets and analyzes requests for disbursements to ensure expenditures are within budget guidelines.

4. Identifies resources for credit and establishes lines of credit and additional resources for Meals on Wheels Plus’s future growth.

5. Plans, organizes, and implements overall administration and fiscal reporting; including purchasing, risk management, cash and investment portfolio management; business licensing; grant compliance and regulatory filings and provides leadership for human resource and information technology management.

6. Prepares the monthly, annual, and forecasted financial statements outlining income, expenses, and earnings along with variance analysis to budget and prior periods.

7. Directs, plans, and coordinates, along with the President & CEO, relationships and negotiations for business insurance, employee benefits, real estate transactions, bank accounts and credit cards, vendors, and others as needed or assigned.

8. Directs and participates in management studies, and reports on complex financial analysis and organizational and administrative policies.

Minimum Requirements … education, years of experience, and licenses and/or certifications

1. Typical experience gained through combination of Degree(s) in Finance or Accounting and at least 10years experience in progressively responsible finance positions, including at least 5 years financial management, preferable in the non-profit business sector.
2. CPA and/or MBA are highly desirable.
3. Experience with risk management and insurance is required.
