Big Cat Habitat, conceived in 1973 with the Sarasota County land purchase became a non-profit organization in 2005. The mission is to provide a safe, loving, and permanent home for exotic and domestic animals. And to educate guests and community on the importance of species preservation ensuring their survival by the commitment to the Human-Animal connection.

Big Cat Habitat is seeking a passionate, energetic leader as Director of Development responsible for planning, organizing, and executing The Association’s annual fundraising plan, which supports the mission. The Director will be responsible for public relations, communications, donor acquisition and development, event planning, grant writing, and general community outreach. The Director of Development will report to the Executive Leadership.

Candidates with a minimum Bachelor’s degree and four years of progressively successful fundraising experience are encouraged to apply. CFRE or ACFRE accreditation is a plus. Experience in donor cultivation, grant writing, diverse funding sources, social media marketing, donor software, and strong communication skills are needed. The starting salary range for this position is $70K-$90K.
